Excellent stay at Santemar Hotel. Very close to the main beach of the city El Sardinero (5 walking). Enclosed parking was available by the hotel at a certain cost per day but we have parked outside (not paying anything). Room was spacious, very well and tasting furnished and very quiet. Cleaning also was excellent and in general staff was very helpful. They even provided us with beach towels for the sea. You need 30-40 minutes walking to get to the center but there are also buses (1.30 euros) and the bus stop is just 2 minutes away. Many restaurants and bars around, I wouldn't go at the cafeteria of the Casino, next to the hotel because the staff is completely indifferent. I would recommend a visit at Bottin museum in the center. It has an excellent cafeteria - restaurant in the ground floor overlooking the bay and the sea and has excellent coffee and salads.

This was a last minute booking due to our ferry being delayed by 24hrs. I’m so glad I booked this one. It was very easy to get to and it had lots of parking. It was a much larger hotel than I realised. Reception was helpful & obviously used to an influx of Brits. We were in room 828. The room was so lovely. It was big and very clean. The only downside was that the toilet seat was broken so was wobbly but it didn’t deter from the fact that it was a good room. We had a really good view out of the window onto the sea. Very nice. It had a restaurant and a snack bar that we used. Very reasonably priced. Within walking distance to a small Lupa supermarket and a walk on the prom. Only there for one night but really enjoyed it and definitely would stay there again.

A lovely hotel located just a street away from the beach. First impressions were excellent, we arrived very early on a flight into Santander and they were so accomodating in reception, making an effort to have our rooms ready as soon as possible. The rooms were perfect and very comfortable. It was extremely hot the day we arrived and we appreciated the good aircon. The breakfast was exceptional. A huge range of all different types of food available. I was in a group of 7 people and we all agreed that the breakfast was incredible. Also loved the little outdoor pop-up bar, there were lovely little touches with the lights and complimentary sweets. The cocktails were delicious too! Value for money was good as were visiting during peak tourist season.

We're sorry we couldn't spend more time here - the accommodations and the city are great! The hotel is several minutes walk from the beach and terraces. The room was spacious and had a comfortable bed, and has a nice digital experience (to control the lights, signal cleaning needs). Equipped with big bathroom with very good lighting. Santander is a wonderful city with so much to see - from the port to the lighthouse, to the city center with its historic architecture, local pubs and shopping strips, worth spending as many days as possible to experience it all!

Room was exactly like the photos! The room felt modern and the beds were comfortable. The staff at reception were very friendly. The breakfast had a great variety and was great for us due to only staying 1 night and catching a ferry at midday, so allowed us to not have to worry about having to go off and find something outside the hotel. There is a parade of food shops over the road from the hotel, which is true Spanish - we ate dinner in one of them and it was lovely, would highly recommend giving one of these restaurants a try if you are staying.
